My sermons, these days, at Vale do Gavião, on Sunday night service, are about the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount. I started to give the sermon on that passage 5 Sundays ago (each Sunday is one verse and now we are at the third beatitude). I knew there were a lot of teachings, but every time I meditate on each verse or the whole chapter (because the Sermon on the Mount is from Matt. chap. 5 thru 7) I learn something new. So It is not to take lightly the saying that God's Word renews itself.

To prepare ahead on the sermons, I was reading a study on "PRAYER".
Most of the times, if not every time, we do not know how to pray. This is why the disciples asked Jesus to teach how to pray and even if God himself explains us, in His Word, how to pray, we don't know how to pray.
There are four kinds of prayers (I don't like the naming of the division of prayers, but for this "opinion-on-blog"'s sake...), customarily, in the Reformed tradition, The first is CONFESSION. We are commanded to confess our sins (1 John 1:9) and God gives us Psalm 51 as the model. Looking at the various characters of the Bible, David, for exemple, acknowledged that he had sinned and did not put or shift the blame on Bathsheba or Adam. In other words only a truly penitent believer acknowledges that he or she had sinned and confesses.
Se second is SUPPLICATIONS or REQUESTING, which is related to the third, INTERCESSION. The second kind is the kind that we request what we need from God while the third we request things for other people. However it seems both are mixed and we don't really know what we are asking for, who we are asking for and how are supposed to ask for.
The fourth kind is the PRAISE and ADORATION. It is the "thank you" part of the prayer.
In Suma, all we are doing in a prayer is to start with "please" and end with "thank you". But do we really do it? In my opinion, we demand and not ask.
There's a journal that talks about prayer and the sovereignty of God that says, "True prayer submits to God's authority. Right prayers are 'requests' (Phil. 4:6), not demands. Demanding things from God...whistles to Him as our bellhop, rather that submitting humbly to Him as our King", which totally relates to the beatitudes (especifically the first, Matt. 5:3 - Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven - poor meaning humble).
So, using the word or the intention "please" during the confession or supplication or intercession does not do it in the mind of the Frenchman and Reformer Jean Calvin. The prayer calls for the usage of a word that is more profound and the idea that is heavier "S'il vous plait" (If You please), because everything that happens, wheather God answers our prayers or not, grants us good life or not, or whatever, He has to will and it has to please Him.

Thomas just came back from the peds. and there were nothing wrong with the baby.
Thank God he is growing up strong and healthy.
The only problem, besides the stomach aches/cramps and little redness on the face in reaction to the weather, the usual of the babies, is that he has a lot of saliva. HAHAHA ~ ~
I know that babies are not supposed to have saliva until the second or third month, because that's when teeth come.
Plus when he cries tears come out.
Thought there was something wrong with his lacrimal channel or glands, but I guess he is premature in salivating and crying. HAHAHA ~ ~ ~
Any how, every thing is normal, gained almost 5cm and almost 2 kg in less than 1 month. So he his now 54cm and 5.250g.

Manuel começa fisica"!! (경찬 운동을 시작하다.)

Manuel은 결혼하고 살이 쪘다. Jasmin이 음식을 잘 해 줘라기보다..
잘 못하기에 이것저것 (실험을^^;) 해 주면 맛있게 먹어준다.
그래서 포동포동해졌다..
살이 붙었다는 얘기를 많이 들어서 약간의 스트레스 받으며 살고 있다.

Manuel engordou depois de casado. Não é porque a Jasmin cozinha bem..
ele se tornou o 'test subject'.
As pessoas dizem que ele ta gordo e por isso vive estressado.


Jasmin과 웅이(태명)랑 약속한것이 있다.
웅이가 태어날 땐 아빠 배가 쏙 들어갈거라고...^^
아기가 9월 초에 태어나는데 이제 슬슬 살을 빼려고 하는것 같다.

새벽 5시 30분 요란하게 알람이 울린다. 늘 같은 시간에 울리는 알람이지만...
오늘은 Manuel이 먼저 일어나 나갈 준비를 한다.
고요한 새벽을 깨우는 농구 공 소리~ 드뎌 Manuel이 운동을 시작했다.
꾸준하게 운동을 하다보면 언젠가 배가 쏙 들어가겠지~~~
힘내요 Manuel..
Jasmin는 웅이 태어나고 몸상태 좋아지면 운동 열심히 할께요.
그때 같이 하면 더 재미있게 운동할 수 있을 거야~ 그렇지?!

Âs 5:30 o alarme toca, todos os dia..
Hoje Manuel acordou antes de Jasmin e começou a se vestir.
O barulho da bola quebra o silêncio da madrugada. Ele começou!

A Jasmin também vai fazer exercício depois do nascimento.
Se nesse dia eles dois fizessem exercício juntos...

갈매기 골짜기 의 Domingo~

<아침 - 교회 학교 17명>

아침 일찍 서둘러 발리 두 가비엉으로 Foi~ ( go~!)
오늘도 역시 아이들이 먼저 와 있다. ㅋ
녀석들.. 차가 서기도 전에 무섭게 달려와 트렁크를 열고,

힘자랑을 하는 듯 서로 의자를 더 들겠다고 아우성이다.
집주인 얘기론 아침 7시부터 아이들이 온다고 한다.

우리 예배가 9시라는걸 아이들도 잘 아는데..

Daniel한테 약간 미안하지만... 우리 집에 생길때 까지 참아주면 좋겠다.

*오늘은 말씀은 '누가복음 10장 25~37절'

*외울 말씀은 Luke 10:27 *

오늘은 아이들이 외울 말씀을 썼는데.. 시간이 넘 걸린다.

다음 주 부터는 원래 하던대로 프린트를 해주는게 좋은듯..

말씀 중에 '이렇게 선한 사마리아 같은 사람 만난적있어' 라는 질문에...
Gabriela (가브리엘라)는 손을 들어 에우자미라고 했다..

내가 생각해도 그녀는 선한 사마리아 사람이다.
Gilherme(가운데 있는 녀석) 의 엄마가 교통사고로 다쳤다고 한다.

그래서 아이들과 함께 기도해주었다.
어머니가 아프시다고 얘기할 때는 다 큰 청년처럼 얘기하더니..
다른 시간엔 아가처럼 손가락을 물고.. 누워있고.. 녀석~ 좋아지겠지..
이 아이가 좋아라하는 노래는 Satisfação...
그래서 오늘은 찬양하는 시간에 앞에 나가서 이거 하자고 한다..
이 녀석은 이 노래 가사를 다 모른다.. ㅋㅋㅋ
이번주에는 Gilherme네를 심방해야할듯~!

간식으로 코카콜라 , 케익... 그리고 사탕하나씩~!

<저녁 예배 - 11명>

오늘도 어느 집에서 음악을 아주 크게 틀어주고..^^;
신랑은 더 큰 목소리로 얘기하기 위해 목에 힘을 더 주고..

*오늘 말씀은... 누가복음 8장16~18절

오늘은 Carlos네 식구가 왔다.
늘 아저씨 혼자 왔는데.. 아주머니도 함께 오시고

막내 아들과 브라질리아에서 온 Mercedes의 남동생도 함께~
요즘 자주 다른 도시에 사는 아들네를 자주 갔었는데.

^ㅁ^ 계속 오늘처럼 오셔요~

Silvio아저씨는 일하러 가서 오늘 저녁도 참석하지 못했고, Lourdes만 왔다.
(Lourdes아주머니는 조용조용말하고.. 예쁜 미소를 가졌다. )
예배 끝날때는 아저씨가 도착하는데

오늘은 예배가 일찍 끝나서 아주머니를 우리가 태워다 주었다.
아주머니는 Jasmin이 데려다 주라했냐며 신랑에게 웃으며 말하고..
나에게도 살짝 미소를 보내주었다.
이 가정이 하나님 안에서 건강하게 성장하길 늘 기도한다..

찬송가가 다들 없어서.. 약간 불편...

예배 끝나고 함께 Café와 bolacha~!!!

Cedo de manhã fomos ao Vale do Gavião, mas, como todos os domingos, as crianças vieram mais cedo do que nós. Antes de parar o carro já abrem o porta malas para tirar as cadeiras. Cada um querendo mostrar que consegue carregar mais. As crianças chegam tão cedo que desde 7:00 estão na porta, esperando, conversando. Isso atrapalha um poco o dono da casa, mas tem outro jeito?
A Palavra de hoje foi em ‘Lucas 10:25-37’ e o versículo para memorizer foi o v. 27: “Amarás o Senhor, teu Deus, de todo o teu coração, de toda a tua alma, de todas as tuas forces e de todo o teu entendimento; e: amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo”. As 17 crianças trouxeram caderno e lapis para escreverem o versículo para memorizer. Como demoraram! Então decidi que próximo domingo darei o versículo impress e falar para eles treinarem em casa. E no domingo seguinte eu pergunto qual foi o versículo que foi aprendido.

Bom, como a mensagem foi sobre ‘O Bom Samaritano’, perguntei às crianças se conheciam alguém assim, de um coração bom, que está sempre ajudando os outros e tal. Então a Gabriela levantou a mão e disse que era a tia Elzamir. Realmente eu concordo, pois ela tem um coração muito grande e está sempre bem humorado e pronto para ajudar os outros no que poder. O Guilherme, de repente, me chamou e disse que a sua mãe tinha sofrido um acidente de moto. Por um instante pensei que ele estava só brincando, mas percebi logo pelo seu tom de voz. Um menino que foi taxado como brincalhão falando como um adulto, eu fiquei sem saber o que fazer. Enfim, terminamos a escola dominical com cântico, oração e, no final, bolo, coca e pirulito como lance.
A noite tivemos 11 pessoas para o culto. Graças a Deus temos essas pessoas. Durante o culto o viziho ligou a música bem alta parecendo que queria nos atrapalhar. Então pensei: realmente satanás não quer culto. Mas nosso Deus é gracioso e minha voz foi alto para as pessoas presents poderem ouvir. O irmão Carlos trouxe a sua esposa, cunhado e sobrinho. O irmão Silvio estava trabalhando e não pôde vir. Veio somente a sua esposa, a irmã Lourdes, que tem um sorriso e uma voz bem discretas. Depois do culto todos nós tomamos cafezinho com bolacha como confraternização dos irmãos.

Muitas coisas estão acontecendo com a grace de Deus. Por causa da enchente do mês passado, nós ainda estamos ajudando a população que ainda estão com dificuldade. Também estamos orando para que Deus nos permita um terreno, um lugar onde possamos, sem constrangimento e livremente adorer ao Deus. Não esquecendo de evangelizar e visitar todos os dias, porque sustentabilidade é importante tanto quanto anunciar.
